Police intervened in Elon Musk’s attempt to remove the Twitter building sign in San Francisco. Musk recently rebranded Twitter to “X” and wanted to remove the old signage. However, the police were called due to a possible unpermitted street closure caused by the crane used for the removal. The work was halted, and officers determined that no crime was committed. Employees were not informed about the sign removal, and it is assumed that it will be replaced with the new “X” insignia. The crane caused traffic disruption on the cross street, but it has now been removed. While part of the sign has been dismantled, the full Twitter name remains on one side.
